Reasons for Proposal
The current Act requires that emergency equipment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation be equipped in airports, passenger coaches, ships, and multi-family housing, multi-use facilities, etc., which are larger than the size prescribed by Presidential Decree and allows the State and local governments to provide financial support for such facilities, etc.
However, tourist attractions and tourism complexes used by many people are not subject to the installation despite the need for emergency equipment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
In addition, even facilities equipped with emergency equipment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation are difficult to properly use in emergency situations due to a lack of guidance.
Therefore, this amendment aims to mandate the installation in tourist attractions and tourism complexes where there is a great need for emergency equipment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and, at the same time, mandate the prominent display of guide signs at the entrance or other site easily accessible by multiple people in facilities where the emergency equipment is installed (Article 47-2 (1) 6-2, Article 47-2 (4), and Article 62 (1) 3-5 newly inserted).
Major Provisions
Mandate that facility owners, etc., install emergency equipment for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (Article 47-2 (1) 6-2, Article 47-2 (4), and Article 62 (1) 3-5 newly inserted).
