Reasons for Proposal
Recently, accidents in which children are left unattended inside motor vehicles during heat waves have occasionally occurred, and the parents of young children need to pay special attention to prevent such accidents.
Accordingly, the Amendment aims to prevent safety-related accidents in motor vehicles by requiring automobile manufacturers, sellers, etc. to install rear-seat alert systems in the motor vehicles so as to notify in the event that a child or person who requires care is left in the rear seat when car doors are closed while the car engine is turned off (Article 29-4, Article 84 (2) 2-2, etc. newly inserted).
