CREC to Build a Magnet School in Osong

An investment promotion mission from North Chungcheong Province announced Tuesday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) of Connecticut in the United States to establish a foreign education facility in the Chungbuk Free Economic Zone.

Governor of North Chungcheong Province Lee Si-jong, who visited the United States with the group, signed the MOU with Executive Director Bruce Douglas of CERC to cooperate for the development.

Executive Director Douglas also agreed to seek ways to install the Magnet School operated by CREC which provide education for children from kindergarten to high school in the Osong Biovalley.

The Magnet Schools have a focus on sciences.

Established in 1967, the school has 120 programs including sciences and arts and 20 facilities in 35 districts.

North Chungcheong Province expects the school will help to enhance educational environment in Osong for foreign investors, government officials in Sejong city and researchers in international science and business belts.
