KITA Ran A Promotional Event for Korean Food And Beverages In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) SEOUL, Oct. 6 (Yonhap) -- KITA(Korean International Trade Association) and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries co-hosted a marketing event to promote Korean food and beverages for 4 days from the start of this month, Oct 3rd.

Around 15 korean seafood producers, and 35 local buyers-from large retailers, food importers to franchisers- attended the event and 113 cases of on-site business meeting(worth US$7.2 million or KRW 8.6 billion) was made at the trade fair on the opening day of the event.

At the event with the titile of 'Malyasia retailers/vendors MD business meeting 2019' held on 4th, special guests from Isetan Department store, Malaysia TV homeshopping CJ Wow Shop, a representative of food and pharmaceutical franchiser Asen Plus shared their tips for how to get into Malaysian market. For two days from October 4th, there has been a marketing event letting local residents taste and enjoy Korean food, part of an advertising campaign at Avenue K, known as shoppers' paradise, located at the center of the city.

Flocking to free tasting showcase at the main lobby , over 3,000 visitors are reported to grab and enjoy the flavor.

Three main hits: cup noodle, stir-fried rice cake(Tteok-bokki in Korean) and Korean style beef jerky, which gained the biggest popularity are expected to be introduced soon into retailers to catch potential clients.
