According to Yonhap News,

Busan City and Gyeongnam-do (South Gyeongsang Province) will conduct local promotion activities to attract Taiwanese tourists along with Air Busan, a regional airline, to celebrate its new regular route between Busan and Taipei.

This promotion is to disperse foreign tourists to regions other than the Seoul metropolitan area, and to enhance tourism exchange between Taipei and Busan, Gyeongnam in Visit Korea Year (2010 ~ 2012).

A tourism seminar for people in the tourism industry will be held, and promotional events for general consumers will be conducted in Taipei.

Busan City and Gyeongnam-do have already placed advertisements on inter-bus city buses and major daily newspapers to promote the new route between Busan and Taipei.

They plan to promote tourism products of Busan and Gyeongnam toward local citizens in the downtown of Taipei on January 29th and 30th and hold various events to experience Korean culture in order to raise awareness on the tourism of the region.

New tourist products will be developed through a tourism seminar for people in the tourism industry and the media. Individual tourists will be invited to a seminar on free tour in the region on January 28th.

Busan City said “the promotion activities will improve the image of the City as a tourism city and advance the ‘era of 1 million Chinese tourists.’”
