According to Yonhap News,
Busan City said on January 27th that it will sign an MOU with Irkutsk Oblast, Russia to vitalize medical tourism on January 28th.
Irkutsk Oblast is the largest province in the east Siberia with the population of 2.5 million and the hub of administration, culture, economy, and the resource industry, but its medical industry has not been developed.
Busan has offered a familiarization tour to officials of the health authority and hospitals of Irkutsk Oblast to introduce big hospitals of Seoul and Busan.
An official of Busan said “we expect that the MOU will contribute to attracting Russian patiens by introducing high-quality medical institutes and tourism products of Busan.”
