Busan City said on February 4th that it would bid for ‘International Fisheries Exchange Center,’ which is designed to provide professional education to foreign crew.

The project to establish ‘International Fisheries Exchange Center’ is pushed forward by the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to innovate the fisheries industry. About KRW 60.5 billion will be invested by 2014 for the center.

The City is known to have recommended Youngnam Regional Office of National Veterinary Research & Quarantine Service and the Institute of Fisheries Sciences Pukyong National University as candidates for the Center.

Busan City said “we are committed to establishing ‘International Fisheries Exchange Center’ in Busan by explaining why Busan is the optimal city for the Center to the central government.”
