 According to Yonhap News,

Korea Delivery Center (KDC) of Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company, was opened in Busan.

Accenture Korea held a KDC opening ceremony at Centum Science Park in U-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan on April 19th.

The ceremony was attended by around 100 people including President Lee Jin of Accenture Korea, Busan Mayor Heo Nam-sik, President Je Jong-mo of Busan City Assembly, and representatives of partner companies including Cisco Systems Korea, SAS Korea, and Korea EMC.

Accenture was established in Chicago, the U.S. in 1912 and has grown into a global company which devises corporate strategies and manages financial performances. The company hires about 215,000 workers in 53 countries and posts the annual sales of USD 21.6 billion (as of 2010) as one of the largest management consulting firms.

Accenture Korea was founded in 1986, and provides management consulting services mainly to large companies including Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Company.

KDC is an outsourcing center based on a remote development system, and will provide system integration (SI) and application outsourcing (AO) services, fully utilizing Accenture’s global know-how and expertise in each industry.

The company plans to expand the center into various industrial sectors centering on communications and electronics industry and offer business process outsourcing (BPO) services to domestic and foreign customers.

President Lee Jin of Accenture Korea said at the opening ceremony “KDC shows Accenture’s efforts to lead domestic remote development business and vitalize IT and knowledge-based high value added industries,” and added “based on our global network and capacity, we will provide our own innovative solutions and differentiated services.”

Busan Mayor Heo Nam-sik said “KDC will contribute not only to job creation in the Busan region but also enhancing the competitiveness of the IT service industry,” and added “we will provide full support to make sure Busan and Accenture will grow together.”

Last year, Busan was selected as the place for KDC outpacing other local governments in a fierce competition over the center thanks to its advanced labor market and potential to significantly develop the center.
