According to Yonhap News,

2011 Busan International Medical Tourism Convention opened on September 28 to enhance competitiveness of medical service and revitalize medical tourism.

Under the theme of projection on Asia and the Pacific medical tourism and development, the convention will end on September 30.

The convention will be composed of pam tours, an opening session, and a conference.

Under the theme of success strategy to global health care, Korea-China medical tourism seminar will be held as well during the convention.

An official said that the convention has contributed to the expansion of the medical tourism in Busan since its beginning in 2009.

The number of medical tourists stood at 5,900 last year, and is expected to increase this year.
