Pusan National University to Organize Europe-Asia Conference

According to Yonhap News,

The European Union (EU) Center of Pusan National University is scheduled to organize the 2012 Europe-Asia International Conference under the theme of "Cooperation and Development" in order to establish partnership between EU and Asia.

The conference is designed to discuss various political and economic issues and promote cooperation and mutual prosperity, classified into three categories: EU-Asia's response to deal with political challenge; EU-Asia's response to deal with economic challenges; EU-Asia's cooperation.

It will attract EU Ambassador to Korea Thomas Kozlowski, Irish Ambassador to Korea Eamonn Mckee and Professor of University of Leeds Christopher Dent.

Asian representatives include Professor of Kobe University Hiromasa Gubo, Professor of Law School of Yonsei University Park Deok-yeong and Professor of Graduate School of International Studies of Pusan National University Lee Jae-deuk.

About 100 graduate school students, majored in international studies, will participate in the discussion as panel members with the Director of Economy Department of Busan Lee Yeong-hwal and President of Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jo Seong-je attending.

Professor Lee, who also serves as the head of the EU center, said, "We have invited renowned scholars from home and abroad to have an in-depth discussion on politics, economy and regional cooperation."
