According to Yonhap News,
National Fisheries Research Development Institute (NFRDI) invited six public officials in charge of Aquaculture Department of Zanzibar, Tanzania, as an effort to support developing economies.
The six officials will learn Korea's advanced aquafarming technique for about two weeks.
The NFRDI has also been conducting feasibility test on development of seaweed and fishery farming in Zanzibar from last November.
After completing the test, the institute will suggest a mid-and-long-term road map to facilitate Tanzania's farming industry.
"As a part of Yeosu Expo Project, the support program for developing
countries is designed to boost their aquafarming industry by recovering their
ecosystem, conducting feasibility test and transferring our advanced aquafarming
technique. We will take the lead in promoting our aquafarming industry through
continuing mutual exchange with the countries," said a member of the institute.
