According to Yonhap News,
About 7,000 people from 130 countries, including the president of the International Water Association Glan Daigger and the Minister of Environment Yu Yeong-suk, attended the opening ceremony of the 2012 Water Congress & Exhibition last Monday.The biennial event is designed to find a reasonable solution to address water issues in the 21st century through presentations and discussions of water experts and professors. This year's event focused on providing up-to-date information on climate change, future city, development of water resources and water treatment, under the topic of "Pioneering Global Water Solutions."
Global companies including Suez, Veolia, Samsung Engineering, GS E&C, POSCO Engineering & Construction and KOLON Global and countries including Canada, Netherland, Israel, Japan and Australia operated exhibition booths.
Korea Water Resources Corporation, Korea Environment Corporation and domestic water treatment business groups also participated in the event.
