The National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) holds an international workshop on aquatic vaccine today at Novotel Ambassador Busan with 100 aquatic experts from home and abroad attending.
They gather to share current research results and industrial trends, improve the productivity of the aquatic industry and prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Prof. Adams of the U.K. University of Stirling, a preeminent expert in immunization and vaccine, presents application of high-density biochip technology to vaccine for fish.
Dr. Miyata from the world-renowned pharmaceuticals Intervet MSD makes presentation on aqua farming for warm water fish and vaccine program.
Dr. Kim Myeong-seok from the NFRDI and Prof. Jeong Seong-ju of Chonnam National University deliver lectures on Korean vaccine and development of adjuvant vaccine for viral hemorrhagic septicemia, respectively.
Dr. Park Myeong-ae from Fish Pathology Division of the NFRDI said, "The workshop will be an important opportunity to keep up with advanced countries' vaccine research and global trend and establish partnership with the countries, which will in turn facilitate domestic vaccine research."
