The Busan Tourism Organization (BTO) held an inaugural ceremony last Wednesday at Busan Youth Hostel ARPINA. The BTO signaled its move to develop Busan into a global tourism city.

It completed the registration of incorporation in last November. Then in December, the Busan Convention & Visitors Bureau, Busan Youth Hostel ARPINA and Busan City Tour are integrated into the BTO, comprised of one headquarter, one office and four teams with 124 employees. The BTO will be tasked with attracting tourists and MICE events, an acronym for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions.

The BTO will also operate the youth hostel and Busan City tour bus programs, expand networks with other tourism organizations home and abroad and establish infrastructures to boost the regional tourism industry.

Busan City plans to provide aggressive supports to ensure the stable management of the organization and develop Busan into a major tourism attraction.
