According to Yonhap News,
LG CNS inked a memrandum of understanding last Wednesday with Busan City and Kakao Corp., a developer of Kakao Talk, a multi-platform texting application. Under the MOU, Kakao is allowed to use another datacenter, run by LG CNS, in Busan following LG CNS datacenter in Gansan, Seoul, which will further strengthen Kakao Talk service. The datacenters provide an IT environment necessary for operating servers.
"As we diversify Kakao Talk services and platform, we need to expand the existing datacenter. We will provide optimal services via enhancing infrastructures, which will develop us into a global mobile platform," said Lee Seok-u, CEO of Kakao Corp.
"We will contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of our customers including Kakao Corp. via stable and differentiated datacenter services," said a member of LG CNS.
Established in last year, LG CNS Datacenter in Busan was open to customers from this month.
