The Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced today that it will hold investment promotion activities for the Busan Port and hinterlands of the New Port.
CEO of BPA Lim Ki-taek will participate in the 38th Terminal Operating Company Container Supply Chain Europe Conference and Exhibition (TOC CSC Europe) in Netherlands to make a presentation on Northeast Asia container market and Busan Port to terminal operators and shippers on June 25.
CEO Lim will introduce trends of Northeast Asian market which is the leading the growth of global marine trades and share the Busan Port’s strategy to become a global port by reinforcing its competitiveness and collaborating with Chinese and Japanese ports.
TOC CSC Europe is one of the largest European conferences on port and terminal technology, aiming at growth of related industries. About 3,000 terminal operators, shippers and logistics businesses from around the world attended last year’s conference held in Belgium.
BPA will also invite about 50 companies including European logistics businesses to an investment information session to promote the Busan Port and share development plans of the New Port hinterlands.
CEO Lim will visit Amsterdam and Antwarp June 26 and 27 to see and benchmark growth strategies of their ports which have become the global logistics hubs.
On 23rd, Lim will also visit the DP World, the world’s 4th largest and the largest terminal operator in Middle East, and meet Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ahil Wats to discuss cooperation between the Busan Port and Dubai Port.
BPA will also meet with the President and Chief Executive Officer Jorn Hinge of the United Arab Shipping Company, the largest shipping company in Middle East to request increased use of the Busan Port.
CEO Lim noted that the conference will serve as an opportunity to strengthen prestige of the Busan port in the world and attract European investment in the New Port hinterlands.
