Busan will invite members of the Seoul Japan Club (SJC) to provide a tour to foreign investment infrastructure and hold an investment information session on business environment in Korea this week.

The club was established in January 1997 when three Japanese associations merged together. With 412 corporate members and 1,960 members, it holds various activities including facilitating economic exchanges between Korean and Japanese companies, globalizing the Korean business environment and operating Japanese Schools in Seoul.

Participants in the tour are executives of manufacturing companies (IT, electronics, semiconductor makers), investment promotion agencies (Japan External Trade Organization, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and law and accounting firms) and high-added value service companies (finance, logistics and general trading companies).

Busan will provide a tour to the Mieum Foreign Investment Zone, the LG CNS cloud data center, new port’s container terminal and key foreign investment infrastructure to promote investment in Busan and support in attracting Japanese companies.

In addition, Busan will hold an investment information session for Japanese companies to enter the Japan market and overcome Japanese companies’ low interest in investing overseas due to low yen and enhanced export competitiveness of key Japanese industries.

A Busan official noted that the tour will promote the excellence of business environment in Busan, adding that the city will endeavor to make Busan an investment destination for manufacturing and knowledge-intensive service industry including IT, hotels, entertainment, leisure and R&D centers.
