The Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO) announced that it will hold three international meetings, including the 2016 FISITA World Congress and an international conference on astrophysics to be held in 2017.

The BEXCO will also hold Korea-Japan medical physics academic conference next year.

The event is expected to help establish a development strategy for medical and physics systems and policies, exchange recent trends in the field of medicine and physics and reinforce cooperation across related fields.

The 2016 FISITA World Congress is one of the largest international academic conferences in the automobile industry, and Busan successfully attracted the event with close cooperation with the BEXCO and the Busan Tourism Organization.

It is hosted by the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies, which represent 37 countries, every two years.

The 2016 event is expected to draw more than 2,500 participants with about 1,000 paper presentations.

It is the second time that the event is held in Korea, following a Seoul assembly in 2000. CEOs and experts in the automobile industry participated in the assembly held in Seoul, 2000.

The international astrophysics academic conference in 2017 is hosted by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), a non-profit international organization.

It has 60 countries and associations as members and holds an international meeting every two years.

The Busan conference will be the third largest event among international meetings hosted by the IUPAP. It is the first time for Korea to hold the conference, which about 1,500 experts from 30 countries are expected to attend.

The academic conferences are expected to occupy all floors and an auditorium of the BEXCO Convention Hall.

The auditorium, built last year, can accommodate 4,200 participants and is used for large-scale international events.

CEO and President of BEXO Oh Sung-keun noted that the BEXCO is reinforcing promotional activities and regularly holding information sessions to show advantages of Busan and the BEXCO by inviting related individuals aiming to attract large-scale international conventions.
