Busan Global Water Forum 2013 to Be Held Next Month

Busan will hold the Busan Global Water Forum 2013 for two days next month in Busan.

The forum, hosted by Busan city and sponsored by the Water and Future City Institute and International Water Association (IWA), will be held for the first time this year under the slogan of Building Global Water Cooperation in Asia.

The forum, which aims to become a platform between the academy and industry, will review global issues and share water-related projects and success cases in Korea and build network with governments and companies in Southeast Asia.

On the first day, presentations and panel discussions on building resilience through science, technology and innovation with experts from the World Bank, Philippines and China will be held.

In Session II, participants will exchange their views on water management issues in Asia, and Export-Import Bank of Korea, Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, Korea Water Resources Corporation, Doosan Heavy Industries, Woongjin Chemical and other Korean companies will share their experiences on water treatment.

The forum also provides special sessions for one-on-one discussions between speakers and related companies, to promote Busan companies.

Companies interested can submit their applications at the Busan Global Water Forum 2013 homepage.

A Busan official noted that the forum will create synergy with the ENTECH 2013, meeting water-related companies and buyers. He added the forum, which is held for the first time this year, will lay a foundation to solve water issues in Asia and develop the water industry in Korea.
