The IT Expo Busan 2013 Opens September 25

The IT Expo Busan 2013 will be held in Busan from September 25 to September 27.

The expo will be sponsored by the Busan City and the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP). Drawing about 120 foreign buyers from around 20 countries, it will be a B2B expo under the theme of IT Convergence.

The expo also includes 200 booths with 115 companies, a conference on recent IT information, and business consultation sessions which were programmed with an online matching system to maximize practical business performances.

At the conference, Kevin Ashton, a founder of Internet of Things, creator of the WeMo home automation platform and General Manager of Belkin Converse will make opening remarks on the future of IT with Internet of Things.

He is a leader of the clean technology innovation and expert in new technology market implementation. He is also a pioneer of sensor-based technology which provides power to smart energy grids and metering.

VMware CEO Yoo Jae-sung will make remarks on current status and future of Korean IT industry under the theme of IT Convergence- Future of the IT Industry.

The conference will have 18 sessions, with three tracks of regional specialized industries, new trend industries and smart industries.

As renewed as a B2B event, the IT Expo Busan 2013 will draw domestic and foreign buyers to the event to contribute to develop new markets and sales routes.

Buyers of 110 companies from 20 countries, including the United States, Japan, China and countries from Southeast Asia, Middle East, and South America, completed registration.

A Busan official noted that the event will help Busan to come one step close to become a global IT hub, adding that the city expected to see active participation from IT convergence insiders, related agencies, academy and media.
