Busan International Money Show Offers a Look at the Financial Industry in a Single Glance

The 2013 Busan International Money Show was held at BEXCO, in Busan, for four days starting November 8.

Fifty-eight companies from four countries participated, operating 160 exhibition stands. A variety of events included seminars on investment techniques and a special exhibition on currencies of the world.

53 domestic financial institutions of major commercial banks, securities companies and insurance companies, such as BS Financial Group, Shinhan Bank and KB Kookmin Bank, attended the show. Along with domestic institutions, five foreign financial institutions such as the United States’ AIA Group, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Metrobank of the Philippines attended. Financial instrument marketing, corporate public relations and financial policies were introduced during the exhibition.

Public enterprises such as the Financial Supervisory Service, The Bank of Korea and Credit Counseling & Recovery Service provided counseling services on credit recovery systems and small-loan finance services.

The Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation explained to sensitive investors about financial instruments with deposit insurance and depositor protection. The Korea Housing Guarantee Co., Ltd. provided free counseling on real estate and explained real estate sales in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province.

The Bank of Korea, Korea Exchange, Korea Asset Management Corporation and Busan Bank held a recruitment fair for university students and applicants to provide information on career goals and interview techniques.

Shinhan Bank and KB Kookmin Bank provided the latest information on investment techniques to the CEOs and executives of Busan’s small- and medium-sized companies and others. They also provided one-on-one counseling on investment and promoted financial instruments.

Also provided during the show was a seminar on investment techniques where people were able to meet with masters of portfolio management regarding stocks and real estate.

Experts from various fields including Oh Sung-jin, an official at Hyundai Securities Co., Ltd., and Hwang Yoon-suk, an MBN stock specialist, lectured on investment market flows and investment strategy.

A special exhibition on currencies of the world showed the history of global money while a special financial lecture was held for multicultural families. Additionally, an art investment museum displayed major art works used as investment.
