Busan to Hold Forum on Vitalization of Financial Hub

(BUSAN = Yonhap News) Celebrating its 5th anniversary of designation as the financial hub, the city of Busan will hold an open forum to discuss ways to foster and vitalize its financial hub.

Several officials of Busan gathered together and announced on January 16 that the city will hold the open forum on January 21 at Korea Technology Finance Corporation in Munhyun Financial Center in Busan.

The forum will be joined by Shin Je-Yoon, Chairman of Financial Services Commission, and Shin will give a speech about the developmental direction of the city’s function as the financial hub.

Kim Chang-Soo (Professor of Busan National University), Lee Ki-Hwan (Professor of Korea Maritime and Ocean University) and Kim Won-Dae (Executive Director of Korea Exchange) will join the forum to give presentations and discuss relevant issues with the audience.

Busan Citizen Network for Saving Economy plans to organize a Busan financial vitalization committee and adopt a proposition for fostering and vitalizing Busan’s financial hub.

“The forum will provide an opportunity to discuss measures to enhance the function and role of Busan as a hub for derivatives and shipping finance,” said an official of Busan Citizen Network for Saving Economy.
