Busan to Focus on Job Creation

(BUSAN = Newsis) The city of Busan announced that it will set up and proceed with seven job creation projects and 34 action plans adequate for the city’s circumstances.

The project is joined by the city’s job creation specialized institutions including Busan Employment Forum, Busan Technopark, Busan Economic Promotion Agency (BEPA), Busan Human Resources Development Institute, Silla University, Youngsan University and more.

The city is set to invest KRW 4.2 billion to kick off the first project to create 1,000 jobs this year in order to support youth employment and resolve the employment mismatch, which are regarded as the biggest challenge for achieving the city’s objective to reach 70 percent employment rate.

Detailed plans of the projects by each project participants are as follows: ▲ The Busan Employment Forum’s “the Busan employment forum and disclosing system of regional job creation” ▲ Technopark’s “manpower development project for the converged parts and materials industry” ▲ BEPA’s “Youth Build Up project for improving youth employment ▲ Busan Human Resources Development Institute’s “promotion of Busan’s good enterprises” ▲ Silla University’s “training of suburban restoration experts” ▲ Yougnsan University’s “fostering of experts for the Busan Cultural Contents Complex in at Centum City.

“The projects will help Busan take a step forward raising the employment rate to 70 percent,” said a city official. “We will concentrate our efforts to make Busan a better workplace by cooperating with institutions and universities.”
