(BUSAN=Yonhap News) A nuclear power plant equipment industrial complex will be established in Myeongdong of Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone for the first time in Korea.

The Nuclear Energy Sandan Development Co., Ltd., a corporation made from the investment of 20 nuclear power plant parts manufacturers, announced on August 9 that the company will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the establishment of the industrial complex on August 13.

The company will invest KRW 139 billion to establish and complete the complex by July, 2018.

The nuclear power plant equipment industrial complex (506,238 ㎡) will be composed of industrial facilities, public facilities including roads and green areas, neighborhood living facilities and housing construction site.

The Nuclear Energy Sandan Development Co., Ltd. selected Chin Hung International Inc. as the constructor of the industrial complex last month.

When the construction of the complex is completed, about 20 nuclear power plant parts manufacturers will move into the complex and produce nuclear equipment.
