Busan Promotes Capacity Enhancement Project for Overseas Network of Footwear Industry

(BUSAN=NEWSIS) The City of Busan announced to promote the capacity enhancement project for overseas network of footwear industry in 2014 to strengthen the competitiveness of the Korean footwear industry through a network of export buyers that is jointly built by the Footwear Industrial Promotion Center and KOTRA.

Busan aims to increase the competitiveness of Korean footwear industry by holding an export fair for overseas buyers, overseas export fair and finding potential buyers.

The Busan International Shoe Show 2014 (BISS 2014) will be held from September 25 to 26 at BEXCO to build a global network of the Korean footwear industry. The BISS 2014 will invite 46 overseas buyers in the footwear industry and hold more than 190 meetings with 45 Korean footwear manufacturers.

The KOTRA overseas offices will find potential buyers who are interested in Korean products and hold meetings at the overseas export fair.

Busan plans to systematically support the project so that it does not become a one-off event but a foothold for the relationship between Korean companies and overseas buyers.

The City, which will receive applications for the project until August 22, hopes that the capacity enhancement project will lay the foundation to increase the competitiveness of the Korean footwear industry by fostering human resources and building systematic network of export buyers.
