(BUSAN=Yonhap News) BEXCO, the organizer of the Offshore Korea 2014 (Nov. 12~14), announced November 17 that the fair has been very successful with 21,396 participants including 1,760 overseas buyers.

There were 4,903 export meetings between participating companies and buyers at home and abroad and the contract amount reached USD 582 million, according to BEXCO.

The scope of the fair also increased as there were 1,310 booths of 502 companies from 31 countries, larger than that of 2012 (777 booths of 400 companies from 30 countries).

Hyundai Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering each organized a large-scale booth to promote the state-of-the-art technology and held business meetings with buyers.

About 90 shipbuilding and offshore plant related buyers from 30 countries participated in the export meeting and engaged in active business activities.

The next Offshore Korea will be held from October 19 to 21 in 2016.
