(BUSAN=Yonhap News) Busan City announced July 14 that it will hold a proclamation ceremony for the global smart city Busan vision on July 15.

The city will prepare a blue print for transforming Busan into the hub of internet of things (IoT)-based ICT as it has attracted the global smart city demonstration project of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning last April.

The city will introduce the U-city project, the status of ICT infrastructure, and the smart city plan. It will also suggest its vision to leap forward to become the global ICT hub.

A private-public consultative group for the Busan smart city will be established to build the smart city, create IoT ecosystem and promote relevant industries.

Having hosted the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2014 and established Busan creative economy innovation center in 2015, the city is striving to build the IoT-based global smart city.
