According to Yonhap News,
(BUSAN=Yonhap News) The Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced July 16 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Morocco’s Tanger Med Port Authority (TMPA) for exchange developments.
The two authorities agreed to exchange information on port management and operation and promote projects including transporting coastal passenger ships.
Morocco, the marine logistics hub of Africa and Europe, is developing TMPA to turn it as the largest port of transshipment in the Mediterranean.
The Moroccan government is constructing third and fourth container terminals that can handle 5 million TEU annually.
"The MOU will be important for the development of each port. We hope the MOU will strengthen trade between Korea and the Mediterranean countries," said a BPA official.
