According to Yonhap News,
(BUSAN=Yonhap News) Leopard, a safety shoes manufacturer that entered the Chinese market, has u-turned to Busan.
Leopard President Kwon Yong-rok and Busan City Mayor Seo Byeong-su signed a u-turn company agreement on November 9 at Lotte Hotel Seoul.
Leopard will reduce its production in China and invest KRW 2.1 billion in Busan to build a plant.
"Busan is the mecca of shoes industry due to the supply of excellent human resources and high-technology development. We will focus on attracting Korean shoes manufacturers in overseas markets to return to the city and helping the u-turn companies to settle down," said a city official.
Among the 14 u-turn companies in Busan, 11 are shoes manufacturers.
