(BUSAN=Yonhap News) The fourth Busan Global Water Forum, hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and jointly organized by the Water & Future City Institute (WCI) and the International Water Association (IWA), was held at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (Bexco) for two days from August 31.

The annual forum, which has been held since 2012 in cooperation with IWA, took place under the theme of 'Water-Energy Nexus for Sustainable Water Solutions' this year.

The forum brought together global experts in water and energy and renowned academic researchers. Public organizations including K-water and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute as well as major companies in the water industry also participated in the event.

This year's forum produced more in-depth discussions on water and energy convergence technology and new materials technology as the Asia-Pacific Conference of the International Society for Microbial Electrochemistry and Technology was held alongside the annual conference.
