According to Yonhap News,
(BUSAN=Yonhap News) The city of Busan announced May 3 that construction of the K-Shoe Center, designed as a cultural and business hub for the local footwear industry, will finish by the end of this year.
A total of KRW 11.9 billion is being invested in the center, which will house a multimedia promotion zone, exhibition hall, training facilities and meeting areas.
Located in Gaegeum-dong, Busanjin-gu, the center will be run for its first five years until 2022 by Busan Economic Promotion Agency's footwear industry promotion center.
The city expects the center to attract 25,000 general visitors per year, in addition to 5,000 business persons.
According to a city source, "the K-Shoe Center will not only revitalize the local footwear industry, but also serve as a hub for cultural, educational and business events related to shoes."
