Busan R&D Special Zone to Invest KRW 7.9 Bn in Commercializing Public Technology

(BUSAN=Yonhap News) Busan R&D Special Zone announced May 11 that it will be providing KRW 7.9 billion to support the commercialization of public technology.

Up to KRW 3 billion will be provided for a maximum 3 years to help commercialize technologies developed by government-funded research institutes or universities in the form of transferring the technologies to private companies.

This year, a total of 22 projects were selected to receive funding, mostly in the in the shipbuilding and offshore plant industries.

Busan R&D Special Zone expects the commercialization projects to generate an economic effect of KRW 11 billion in revenue, and create 126 new jobs in 2017.
