(BUSAN=Yonhap News) Busan City and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), based in Daejeon, are scheduled to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on July 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the Busan City Hall to build an industry 4.0 platform for SMEs.

Based on the MoU, the two parties will cooperate on building an industry 4.0 platform for SMEs, provide support for forums on the fourth industrial revolution, as well as perform and support research and analysis of related companies.
Busan expects to apply KAIST's advanced technologies related to robotics, artificial intelligence, big data, sensors, software, shipbuilding and offshore plants, financial services, etc., to helping local SMEs grow in the fourth industrial revolution, and establishing a foundation to find new growth engines.
According to a city government source on July 25, "the two parties plan to use this opportunity to connect the outstanding technology and talent from KAIST with Busan's SMEs."
