(SEOUL=Yonhap News) Global aviation experts and airline officials will gather in the southeastern port city of Busan this week to discuss ways to improve flight safety and share the latest industry-related technology, the transport ministry said Monday.
The 5th Flight Safety Seminar for Civil Aviation Authorities and Operators (FSSCO) kicks off Tuesday for a three-day run in Busan, 280 kilometers south of Seoul, with about 300 flight experts and industry officials, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said.
This year's seminar will be held under the theme, "Improving Global Aviation Safety: Moving Toward Data Driven, Proactive Safety Management."
Experts from the International Civil Aviation Organization, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States, European Aviation Safety Agency and the International Air Transport Association will attend the meeting to share various cases and current issues, the ministry said.
