Busan Contents Market Opens May 9...48 Countries to Participate

(BUSAN=Yonhap News) The leading global city in broadcast and new media, Busan, will host the "2018 Busan Contents Market (BCM)" on May 9 to May 12.

This will mark the 12th year of BCM and 1,961 people and 826 companies from 48 different countries will be in attendance.

This year's event will be divided up with to 2 events, the BCM Market and BCM Market Plus.

BCM Market is expected to draw many domestic and international buyers and sellers from May 9 to May 11, and comprise various programs including BIZ Matching, BCM Global Pitching, cultural contents fund investment session, crowd funding, Asia's Next-Generation Contents Forum, BCM Broadcasting Academy, Busan International Documentary Awards and more.

BCM Market Place will go from May 9 to May 12, with exhibitions and experiential programs mainly for local citizens.

Experiential programs include a 360-degree stereoscopic cube for a virtual space experience, 3D stereoscopic studio to experience being a weather caster or announcer and car gravity for designing cars.

What's special about this year's BCM is that it will feature an information session about a new KBS drama that will air in June called "Are You a Human Too," as well as an autograph session.

A Busan City official stated, "BCM is a trading platform to share global broadcast contents and create substantial business opportunities," and went on to say, "We will be able to verify the future and possibilities of the Korean contents industry through this event."
