(BUSAN=Yonhap News) Shoe companies in Busan participated in Vietnam's Shoes & Leather Exhibition and conducted consultations over USD 13 million.

On July 25, Busan Economic Promotion Agency's Footwear Industrial Promotion Center said it took part in the Shoes & Leather Exhibition along with 5 Busan companies. The companies conducted purchasing consultations worth USD 13.11 million and are now in the process of finalizing contracts worth USD 3.5 million.

The Shoes & Leather Exhibition is the biggest fair in country which is the 2nd largest footwear exporter in the world. This year, 700 companies from 20 countries participated.

From Busan, 5 footwear, subsidiary materials, machinery and finished goods companies participated.

Wig Korea Deputy Department Head sated, "We were able to conduct consultations with not only footwear companies but also household companies. We are confident we will be able to enter overseas markets in other areas other than footwear as well."

Space Power, another participating company held consultations with footwear manufacturers in India, Pakistan and other countries.

Busan footwear companies also took part in a footwear and leather trade fair in Guangzhou, China. The companies conducted consultations worth USD 13.8 million and signed contracts worth USD 2.85 million.
