(BUSAN=Yonhap News) The Korea Marine Equipment Association (KOMEA) announced on November 12 that Kormarine Conference 2018 will be held from November 19 to 20 at Haeundae Grand Hotel in Busan.
The conference is co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and Busan Metropolitan City and organized by the KOMEA.
Under the theme of “Pursuing a New Way of Shipbuilding and Marine Industry,” 25 speakers from Korea and abroad will present the changing trends and status of the shipbuilding industry according to environmental regulation changes and explore ways that the Korean shipbuilding and marine industry should move forward.
Peter Tirschwell, Executive Director of content for maritime & trade at IHS Markit, will deliver a keynote speech on “Opportunities within big data related to the Korean shipping and marine industry.”
In addition, Korean experts, as well as international experts, will give presentations in four sessions: Major Changes of Shipbuilding and Marine Industry, Environmental Regulation and the Following Changes of Ship-Propulsion Fuel, Global Ship Finance and Shipping Trends, and Industry Trends for Shipbuilding Equipment. Topics include autonomous shipping, cyber security, regulations on ship-propulsion fuel and emission, related technologies, and domestic and overseas shipping trends.
As special sessions, the Korea-Russia Business Forum on Marine Industries will be held with the focus on the emerging Russian market, while 10 Korean companies will have an opportunity to promote their products.
