According to Yonhap News,

(BUSAN=Yonhap News) Busan City launches the "Busan Youth Dream Car" project, which fosters creation of jobs for young people with the production of Twizy, an ultracompact electric car being manufactured in Busan.

The city signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 18th to transfer the Renault Samsung Motors' manufacturing facilities of Twizy to Busan.

The city will start the "Busan Youth Dream Car" project, by converting Twizy to allow eco-friendly delivery and coffee sales and renting it to the youth population.

Young people who will receive the converted Twizy will be hired in local distribution companies or retail stores.

The city will provide a KRW 2 million incentive to young people participating in the project, and also offer job consulting and training opportunities.

The city plans to give a test-drive of the project next year when Twizies are out in the market. Then, the city will fully carry out the project with 300 young people for 3 years starting from the year 2020.

A city official said, "We planned a youth employment project with an ultracompact electric car, because the small-size logistics industry has grown due to increase in delivery service, online shopping, and the number of single households." The person added, "The project will draw corporate investment and create jobs for youth population, killing two birds with one stone."
