On June 26, Busan Metropolitan City Government announced that 10 German companies in the nuclear decommissioning field visit Busan for technology exchanges with Korean companies.
German companies came to participate in Korea-German nuclear decommissioning business seminar and networking event held in Seoul on June 24.
German companies own technologies for safe and efficient nuclear decommissioning and waste treatment and management.
They are planned to visit Taewoong, Yujin, Ihsung CNI, and Busan Technology Research Center of Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials, among others, to discuss measures on how to exchange technologies.
A city official said, "This visit will provide a great opportunity to seek cooperation between German companies experienced in nuclear decommissioning and Busan's local companies preparing to participate in decommissioning of the Kori-1 plant."
