On August 30, Busan City announced that it signed MOU with the International e-Sports Federation(IeSF) on promotion of e-Sports and development of the game industry.
IeSF was founded in 2008, has 54 member countries, and became an international entity in charge of global e-sports with hosting e-sports world championship, global e-sports executive summit.
To foster the game industry, the city attracted IeSF in Busan in 2017, and jointly pursued the project of global e-sports R&D center.
With the MOU, Busan City and IeSF will cooperate on developing Busan as a center of e-sports and cultivating sound leisure culture.
A city official said, "When e-sports stadium opens next year, the office of IeSF will move to the stadium, accelerating a project for standardization of global e-sports."
