According to Yonhap News,

(BUSAN=Yonhap News) Busan is to go ahead with a project to build the database of technology startups to discover outstanding startups and enhance effects of support policies in Busan.

On September 19, Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Economic Promotion Agency (BEPA) announced that they will survey 2,927 technology startups for various items related with startups on by the end of next month, establishing the database by the year-end.

There are 30 items for survey including the years in operation, industry, sales, the number of employees, investment amount, and the number of participation in startup support projects.

The City plans to divide startups by six steps, providing support policies tailored to each step.

First of all, initial support projects will be introduced to enterprises in the phase of entry and growth. For enterprises entered the mature and stable phases, the City will provide follow-up support policies and outstanding enterprise application system.

The City will help the enterprises in the transition or possible close-down phases find breakthrough by recommending management consultation.

This project is expected to go beyond statistics survey based on the materials from Statistics Korea and National Tax Service, and provide accurate information by surveying the growth and close-down process of startups, their scale and management status.
