Marking the 20th anniversary, Busan TechnoPark publicly announced its blueprint for the local business support, focusing primarily on unicorns (venture businesses whose value is at over KRW 1 trillion) & decacorns (startsups valued over USD 10 billion).
Three main keywords – Platform, Smart, Innovative growth- major driving sources of the community development over the next 20 years, along with seven city-level projects to foster strategically essential businesses such as smart marine engineering, intelligent machines, future mobility technology, global tourism industry, intelligent information service, life-long care, clean tech etc. were selected to be pushed for as part of the future mission of the city.
The ambitious goal TechnoPark disclosed this time is likely to help the metropolitan city take full care of over a thousand small but strong startsups, unicorns and decacorns who’ll cover 70 percent of the local employment in the coming years.
At the foundation day celebration event, 87 businesses who have been newly selected since 2006 to be strategically fostered, won an official certificate from the city.
“Busan TechnoPark has served as a hub of innovation that has been part of breakthrough strategic planning and forming partnership between private-public institutions to sponsor academia over the last 20 years. We’ll make an all-out effort to further energize local economies in close association with enterprises, standing at the very forefront of our economy.”, said the chair of the TechnoPark.
