Busan city, to run an open contest to help local tourism industry

The city of Busan and Busan Tourism Organization(BTO) announced on Apr. 6 that the local government is planning to run an open contest for creating or developing tourism products, believed to help local businesses in tourism industry hardest hit by the recent outbreak of the coronavirus. The contest which singles out creative ideas to develop tourism products, package programs and business under contemplation continues through Apr. 24. Further specifically, business projects for the application range from exploring creative tour programs, regional tour package programs taking a look around west & north of Busan, a gourmet tour through which visitors can taste seasonal local foods to a cruise tour targeting foreign visitors. With a KRW 300 million budget to financially help 4~15 tourism agencies, the local authorities also provides a biz- consulting program for local tourism industry to keep them economically stable.
