According to Yonhap News,

Busan Economic Promotion Agency (BEPA) announced on May 13 the launch of a business support program designed particularly to foster promising businesses in the MICE industry, as a means to improve business smartization and maximize event management process. The lingering COVID-19 impact well into this year has forced almost all travel or event businesses to turn the pre-scheduled on-site events to online virtual shows, casing unexpected drawbacks such as technological or financial limits.

As part of COVID-19 relief package, BEPA unveiled a budget plan 50% up on-year, splitting categories into three details; smart application development, what’s called meeting technology voucher and smart service voucher.

Smart application development entails support plans for businesses which advance smart app or its technology applicable to event organization from guest invitation, space layouts, live-streaming services to system management. BEPA will select three candidates, providing up to KRW 20 million each. Those who apply for the voucher program are entitled to be given up to KRW 5 million.
