PNU, UNIST, Yangsan PNU Hospital to cooperate on attracting K-Bio Lab Hub

Pusan National University, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), and Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital signed a strategic agreement at Yangsan campus of PNU, to attract a project of K-bio Lab Hub, implemented by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), and for its operation.

The three institutes will cooperate on exchange of Korean genome information, commercialization of technologies, co-usage of facilities, talent exchange and fostering, and establishment of network.

The project of establishing K-Bio Lab Hub is to support establishment of enterprises developing new drugs such as remedy and vaccine. It is huge in scale as a combined KRW 350 billion, national and local budget, is to be invested.

South Gyeongsang Province applied for the project with High-Tech Industrial Complex in Yangsan Campus of PNU as a project site.

The president of PNU said, "Megacity of Pusan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam with 8 million population can be a symbol of balanced development nationwide," adding "We expect to attract K-Bio Lab Hub and its successful operation through cooperation with UNIST and PNU Yangsan Hospital."
