Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Innovation Institute of Industry, Science & Technology Planning (BISTEP) announced on October 5 that they will select 'Busan's 8 Great R&D Achievements in 2021' to promote expansion of R&D by local researchers.

This year's '8 Great Achievements' will be selected from the performance generated by Busan's local researchers in 4 areas including machinery/materials, marine/clean energy, intelligent information/life care, new industries/convergence. By area, the evaluations will be made on scientific, technological, economic, and social(infrastructure) achievements.

The best 4 will be awarded with Busan Mayor's Award, and the excellent 4 will be awarded with BISTEP Award and prizes. All winners will get additional points when applying for Busan city's R&D projects next year. The award ceremony will be held in the 'Busan R&D week' scheduled for December this year, where the best 4 will be announced.

The application for the 'Great 8 R&D Achievements' is to be made until October 20, and the details can be found on the website of BISTEP.
