According to Yonhap News,

Busan Technopark, Ulsan Technopark, and Gyeongnam Technopark signed an MOU on December 23 to establish a mutual growth cooperation system to support companies in the Southeast region.

According to MOU, the three Technoparks will strengthen the connection amongst support systems for economic recovery, which has been contracted due to COVID-19, and to respond to Bu-Ul-Gyeong Megacity.

In addition, they agreed to cooperate on creating an environment for startups and investment in such ways as regional funds, identification of oustanding technology startups, and joint investment consultations based on enterprise support functions such as technology investment.

They will discover and plan joint projects such as eco-friendly and smart shipbuilding projects, while also cooperating for Bu-Ul-Gyeong megacity, in such areas as the hydrogen industry and new material R&D belts.

Technopark is a base institution for innovation in each region.

It is playing the role of establishing policies for regional industries and supporting SMEs.

The President of Busan Technopark said, “Although Technopark is playing a role based on each region, such as Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, there are actually no boundaries for support for companies," adding "with the MOU signed today, we will strengthen cooperation by creating pan-regional cooperation track, to put the Southeast region in the center of the national economy."
