Noksan Industrial Complex, the only national industrial complex in Busan which is playing a pivotal role in local economy and industrial logistics, is set to transform into smart green industrial complex.

Busan-si and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation held the launching ceremony of 'Busan Noksan Smart Green Industrial Complex Project Group' on February 16 to help transition of Noksan Industrial Complex into smart green industrial complex.

Smart Green Industrial Complex is a representative project of the government's Korean-style New Deal, aiming to transform aging local industrial complex into eco-friendly manufacturing place. Starting with Changwon, Banwon-Sihwa industrial complex in 2019, currently there are 7 industrial complex have been designated including Busan's Noksan Industrial Complex.

Noksan Industrial Complex was selected as the base industrial complex of industrial complex reformation and smart green industrial complex in March last year.

The Noksan Smart Green Industrial Complex creation project aims: manufacturing innovation of industrial complex; transition to smart green; and the youth-friendly industrial complex. To this end, it will pursue ▲ 'Digital Leading Industrial Complex' through more smart-ization ▲ Smart Green Logistics Complex by improving the infrastructure of industrial complex ▲'Youth-friendly talent development complex' by strengthening employment ecosystem.

The city plans to invest KRW 408.2 billion in total in 15 projects for fiver years by 2026 through 9 digital transition projects including ▲ establishing the foundation for manufacturing innovation of smart industrial complex ▲ building and advancing smart factory ▲ expanding smart convenient facilities, 3 energy self-reliance projects including ▲ establishing energy self-reliant infrastructure ▲ building smart energy platform, and 3 eco-friendly foundation creation projects including ▲ smart garden ball project ▲industrial complex environment improvement fund project.

The city also set 3 goals for Noksan National Industrial Complex to achieve by 2026 ▲ Production inducement effect of KRW 806.6 billion ▲Added-value inducement effect of KRW 267.9 billion, and ▲ 5,552 employment inducement. It will also strive to discover new projects and secure national budget for carbon-neutral industrial complex through organic cooperative system with regional innovation-related institutions.
