According to Yonhap News,

Busan Tourism Organization (BTO) is promoting Busan by participating in Hallyu events held overseas in the context of a transition to the COVID-19 endemic.

On June 1, the first large-scale K-Pop festival in Europe since the COVID-19 pandemic was held at Deutsche Bank Park at the World Cup Stadium in Frankfurt, Germany on May 14.

This event was participated by about 44,000 Hally fans in Europe. The BTO ran promotional marketing to raise awareness of Busan, a candidate city for the 2022 Busan One Asia Festival (2022 BOF) and the 2030 World Expo.

Before the start of the concert pre-show on May 15, a promotional video for the 2022 BOF, the largest Hallyu festival in Asia, was played on the Stadium's large screen.

With introducing Busan as a hometown of BTS's Jimin and Jungkook, Busan's vision for hosting the 2030 World Expo was presented.

The BTO also participated in K-Culture Festival (KCON 2022 Premier Tokyo) held in Japan by CJ ENM for two days from May 14, and carried out promotional activities.

This event, held offline in Japan for the first time in three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was held with idol groups ENJIN, INI, and JO1, who were selected in the survival competition of K-pop, and about 40,000 fans.

The BTO set up a PR booth and focused on introducing the 2022 BOF and promoting its bid for the Busan World Expo under the theme of 'again, together, to Busan'.

BTO is scheduled to promote Busan by participating in '2022 K-Pop Challenge Osaka', hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Osaka and sponsored by the Osaka branch of the Korea Tourism Organization.
