According to The Korea Economic Daily Global Edition,

Korea's low-cost carrier Air Busan Co. from Thursday will add a daily flight to its route linking the nation's biggest port city of Busan to Fukuoka, Japan, raising the total to four per day to boost transportation convenience for Japanese visitors.

In late May, the carrier resumed the route after suspending it due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the number of flights has returned to normal after being raised to two per day in mid-October and three late that month.

In a preemptive move, Air Busan on Oct. 11 decided to add flights in response to surging demand after Korea resumed visa-free entry for Japanese visitors.

This is the first time that the carrier has offered four daily flights on the route since July 2019, when a "don't buy from Japan" campaign broke out in Korea, and a company source said passenger demand has since seen a major surge.

The number of passengers on the carrier's route shot up more than eight times from just 2,728 in September, when the visa-free waiver was not in effect, to 22,359 last month. Air Busan is also Korea's lone carrier to offer four flights per day between Busan and Fukuoka.

The four flights consist of two in the morning and two in the afternoon to allow more travel choices between both cities.

For example, a passenger who takes the carrier's earliest flight from Busan to Fukuoka can return to Korea's second-largest city on the same route's latest flight.

Air Busan is also running a ticket sale to mark the expansion of the route.

A one-way all-inclusive fare from Dec. 6-13 can be bought for as low as 30,000 won for those flying between Dec. 6 and Jan. 26.

"Through the unrivaled competitive schedule of four flights per day, passengers can enjoy more convenience through the boost of our formula 'Air Busan when going to Japan,'" an Air Busan source said. "From Dec. 8, we will resume our Busan-Narita, Japan route as a means to quickly improve performance."
